Introduction

I’ve developed and continue to refine a unique style of my own. I enjoy working within restrictions: in black and white, with the same line width, and with flat abstract contours. I like using minimalist parts to create a maximalist whole. My favorite things to draw are surreal self-portraits and patterns. I want a piece to be at once meaningful and honest in its contentual expression but also compositionally sound and impactful in its form. I believe every dot matters and should be placed with intention.

Introduction

Traditional animation for modern times. These are hand-drawn frame-by-frame animated stickers. You can search “saroufim” to use them through the GIF section of your Instagram story or find them on my verified Giphy account where they’ve amassed over 1.4 billion views. I would say the most popular one is definitely the New Post sticker, which is a common search for users announcing fresh main feed content through their stories.

Introduction

My winning submission to the global Absolut Creative Competition 2019 by Absolut Vodka. I was selected among 7,500 entries by an esteemed panel of judges composed of Mickalene Thomas, Bose Krishnamachari and Aaron Cezar for my piece Don't Keep Things Bottled Up, a reminder to seek levity, stay sociable and talk about how you're feeling. I had the pleasure of being hosted in Stockholm for a celebration party where we of course drank vodka in my honor. My poster was also displayed for a few months in Warschauer Brücke, Berlin.
